A new carousel was added to Olentangy Park in the 1922 season.[1][2][3] Many articles say it was the building that was new, but also that it housed "one of the largest and most complete amusements of this character [carousels] in the country," suggesting the Grand Carousel or one of the other merry-go-rounds were moved there when the old Dancing Pavilion building was updated to become the second casino.[4]
Description
The Carousel was an amusement device in which riders mounted wooden sculptures of animals that simulated a riding movement along a vertical pole for each sculpture. It was operated by electricity, and a central organ provided music.
